Hello Lovelies!

Today, I wanted to tell you guys about a product that I tried recently. This is the Skinfood Premium Tomato Whitening Essence. It came as a small sample with an order I placed for a different product, but I saw that it was meant to aid in evening skin tone, and since I have pigmented spots on my cheeks and nose, I was pretty excited to give it a try!

I cleansed, toned, and did a sheet mask before applying this product. (For more details about Korean skincare steps, see this post) I only applied it to my cheeks and nose because there wasn’t much product and I wanted to see how it did on my dark areas. The consistency was thin. It was almost like water, but just shy of that thinness. The smell was a light scent that disappeared after application.

Results? I have to say I was so, so pleased with this product! After applying, I lightly patted with my fingertips and allowed about 3 minutes for absorption then followed with my regular nightly routine (sans other treatments). After about an hour, I looked in the mirror and could already see some lightening! The next morning, it was a tad lighter and brighter. I used very little product in general (juuuust enough to cover), but the very last application I slathered it on because there wasn’t quite enough for another application. I feel like layering it on like that really made an even bigger difference, so if I buy this in the future, I would use more than the lightest layer.

The downside is that I felt like my brown spots would come back fairly easily, even after not being in the sun much (and I mean, walking to my car, taking the dog to do her business… minimal stuff). Buuut… the results were great and it was easy to apply.

I give it 4 out of 5 pomegranates because I would like for the dark spots to have stayed away (maybe it was me…), but I would buy in the future.

  1. I thought this was a tooth whitening product at first glance! By ‘pigmented spots’ do you mean freckles? If so why on earth would you want to cover them?!
Thanks for following my blog 🙂 x

      2. Oh, it’s a wonderful world! 😉 Most Asian companies put emphasis on making their products in a combo of natural, organic, or even food grade. So it’s a great for your skin! Stayed tuned because I’ve got tons of stuff I plan to share! 😉

    1. Nope, not at all! I did use it at night and followed with a night cream (which is thicker than day) so I can’t say for 100% it wouldn’t cause dryness, but for me, using it at night, it worked wonderfully. 🙂

    1. It’s definitely a great boost to brightening and lightening any dark places you may have! I believe Amazon sells it, but you can find some good stuff on Ebay too, if you want to go that route. Thanks so much for reading! 😀
