Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Essence–Review

Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Essence–Review

Propolis is an interesting little skin care ingredient. It’s actually a resin found in trees that honey bees use as a type of “glue” to help form their honey combs. It’s been used in skin care for it’s antibacterial and healing properties, making it useful for those with acne and redness.

That’s exactly why I was so excited to try out the Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Essence!

To look my best around this time of year I, of course, focus on how I can switch up my skin care for my changing skin. This time of year, it’s growing colder and darker. I can’t stand being cold so the heat gets turned up and the fire is sparked. But with rising temperatures, the humidity is zapped from the air, causing my skin to dry out. Usually my skin is normal to oily, but in the winter it becomes a lot more dry. Below are products that I like to use to combat dry winter skin to make sure that my skin is #HolidayHaute and I look my best!

Dry Shampoo: Batiste vs. Skinfood

Dry Shampoo: Batiste vs. Skinfood

I’m pretty sure, most days, my hair hates me. The roots fall flat and the ends frizz up. God forbid I try to skip a day without a wash. Then my scalp, much like my T-zone, becomes oily and slick, and refuses to cooperate with me at all.

If you’ve dealt with this problem, then you’ve probably also tried at least one dry shampoo. I’ve tried a few brands over the years, more being a waste of money than not, and decided it was high time to compare the two latest products that I’ve been using.

Oh, Skinfood. Will our love affair ever end?

Probably not anytime soon. Today is all about Skinfood’s Black Pomegranate Volumizing Serum. I’ve reviewed the Black Pomegranate Toner and Cream (here) and really liked the line so far. The Black Pomegranate line of products is geared towards anti-aging and brightening.

If you didn’t get a chance to read my review of the other Black Pomegranate products (you should!), then I’ll let you know that black pomegranates are chock full of antioxidants, like many other fruits. In particular, black pomegranates contain high amounts ellagic acid (a type of antioxidant). This helps with dullness. It also contains ingredients like macadamia seed oil, pomegranate seed oil, and biotin that helps with brightness, wrinkles, and overall tone/texture. Read more

By this time we all should know that I have a Skinfood problem. They are arguably one of the most heard of Korean skincare (and makeup!) brands around. Their motto is “good food for health is also good for the skin” which I personally love. So with my love of Skinfood, it’s no surprise that I was excited to try this Black Pomegranate Toner and Cream. (I mean, do we need to cover how much I love pomegranates? 😉 )

Skinfood Gold Kiwi Sunscreen–Review

I know that summer is wrapping up as we speak (err… type…) but sunscreen is so important year round. We are most aware of the sun’s rays when we are melting in the summer heat, but the UV damage can happen in the winter time, too.

That’s why I decided to go ahead and try the Skinfood Gold Kiwi Sun Cream for you guys and post my review. I did hesitate for a moment before deciding to schedule this because swimsuits and maxi dresses are being traded for scarfs and knee boots (at least for us in the Northern hemisphere!), but this is still an important and relevant product!

Memebox Lucky Box Haul

Memebox Lucky Box Haul

I’m not a gambler. Not by a long shot. I’m that person that carefully watches her money and only banks on safe investments. Two dollar scratch off lottery tickets from the gas station are few and far between. And, even though it’s just two bucks, when I lose, I’m truly sad.

Cue a few weeks ago when Memebox put out their Lucky Box. It’s a mystery box that guarantees a retail value of at least $55 and up to $160 with 6-8 full size products in each box. I was so tempted by this box, but there were no reviews and no more details. I kept coming back to their website only to hit the close button on the web browser. After encouragement from my hubby to splurge on that one last birthday gift, I hit confirm and my Lucky Box was on its way. Read more

Skinfood Peach Sake Pore Pact–Review

Hey guys! I’m back online. Everything is finally coming together and most important… we have internet! Over my absence I tried a ton of new products and am so excited to share with you guys what I loved, didn’t love, and… am on the fence about.

Today I’ve got another Skinfood product to review but this time it’s a makeup product! A few months ago I came across the Skinfood Peach Sake Pore Pact. The Peach Sake line is meant to help reduce pore size and help with oil control.

Skinfood Platinum Grape Cell Toner–Review

Skinfood Platinum Grape Cell Toner–Review

Hello again, everyone!

I tried out yet another (I know, I know) Skinfood product: the Platinum Grape Cell Toner. As with most of my goodies, it came as a sample in another order (I love samples!!) so I wanted to give it a try. It seems that most toners are hit or miss with me for some reason. I’m in love with Murad’s Hydrating Toner, but thought Etude House’s Pure Water Baobab Toner was just average. So let’s see how this one fared!
