There’s no questioning that Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray is one of the top dogs. I used it for my wedding a few years ago and my makeup didn’t budge from about 10am to well past midnight–an amazing feat with my oily skin.
But with my wallet’s recent depression, I needed a cheaper alternative to UD’s miracle potion. I had seen reviews online that L’Oreal’s Infallible was a good dupe for the UD spray and at only about $15 I couldn’t resist giving it a go myself.
For one, the ingredients list is almost identical, with the main difference being the amounts of some ingredients. They smell almost identical and they both are a milky white liquid.
With Urban Decay, I sprayed twice during the day for my wedding (I most specifically remember). I sprayed once after applying my base makeup and a second time after applying everything on my face (including eye makeup). I only required a little oil blotting and fresh powder during the course of the day, but no major fixes.
With L’Oreal, I usually just spray once in the morning once all of my makeup is done just before I go to work. Similarly to UD, I only need to blot some oil and freshen my powder through the course of the day. I do find that my eye makeup starts to smudge during my long work day, but I’ll blame if on the subpar eye primer I currently have and not the spray.
I feel like this one’s a tie.
Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray is superior in terms of formula, making up for any cheaper brand makeup I may be wearing, but L’Oreal’s Infallible isn’t far behind. Plus, with that low price tag, I feel like that brings L’Oreal up to a great value.
If you’d like to snag the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, you can find it on their website here. To try out the less expensive dupe, L’Oreal’s Infallible, you can check out Amazon here.

Unfortunately we don’t have either of them here in Croatia. 😞 I can get the UD online wiith free shipping though, but the L’Oréal is a better choice/price. I hope that feelunique.com will stock the Loreal one, so I can try it out. 😀

Oh no! That’s terrible that you don’t have the L’Oreal available for you in your country. Hopefully one day! 🙂

I’ve been wanting to try out the L’Oreal spray but lately I’ve been using the NYX Matte Finishing spray and I really like it! 🙂 xo

Maybe I’ll have to try the NYX spray sometime. I’ve been in love with the UD Primer Potion and am glad I found a near identical product! 🙂

Thank you for this post! I really love the UD setting spray, but always hesitate on repurchasing because of the price..it is just a setting spray after all haha. I have been meaning to pick up the L’Oreal one to try, and your post just sealed the deal for me! I’ll have to remember to grab it next time i’m at the store.

Doesn’t loreal own urban decay or am I making stuff up hehe? Looks like a fab setting spray and the packaging is unique x

I’m like 90% sure they do own them, but I didn’t research it so I didn’t put it in the post. The L’Oreal one is definitely a great buy, though! 😉

Ooh, didn’t know that was a dupe! I just received the Urban Decay one, and it’s quickly earning its spot as a staple in my makeup closet.
Although I wish e.l.f.’s setting spray worked better–it’s incredibly cheap but ineffective for me, haha.

Yeah, I’ve found with ELF products that they’re either really great or kind of suck. 😕 Definitely try the L’Oreal one next time! 🙂

I’ve heard so many great things about the Urban Decay setting spray. I’m glad you’ve found a cheaper alternative though! I usually use MAC’s Prep + Prime Fix+, which works well for my oily skin! x

Oh no! That’s sad! Hopefully it’ll come to Malaysia sometime soon! Another commenter said they like the NYX Matte Finishing Spray. Is that available to you?
