Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence–Review

Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence–Review

Let’s get real for a minute.

I’m a beauty blogger and I suffer from hormonal cystic acne. It’s embarrassing. It’s depressing. It’s painful.

I had never known the pain of cystic acne until this year when I was forced to change my birth control method. It may be TMI for some of you, but for others, it may be a comfort to know that you’re not alone.

It felt like I had tried everything under the sun to get this under control (except what required the expensive guidance of a medical professional). I exfoliated, I moisturized, I cleansed religiously, I never touched my face, I guzzled water, I tried to eat clean, I tried to de-stress. It felt like everything and nothing was a trigger for it. Hormones answer to no one.

Over the summer, I read reviews online (from even the most reputable k-beauty bloggers) that this inexpensive essence was a miracle product. It was on my wishlist for quite some time, but before clicking “order” I always backed out, afraid of wasting time, money, and hope on a full sized product that I had no idea would even work for me. The Face Shop Mango Seed Glow Date-Prep Butter–Review

The Face Shop Mango Seed Glow Date-Prep Butter–Review

I’m a married lady now. Gone are the days of feigning that I have perfect hair/skin/nails/teeth/personality. Hubby sees me when I first wake up in the morning (before I even realize I have a huge zit on my forehead), he sees me at before we go to bed (pink acne cream dotted across my cheeks), and he sees my when I’m sick (pretending to be Puff the Magic Dragon with tissue stuffed up my nostrils).

But that doesn’t mean I don’t still at least try.

Cue The Face Shop’s Mango Seed Glow Date-Prep Butter. On TFS’s website: “A must-have date-prep butter that delivers moisture and a fair glowing complexion to increase your date’s attraction.”

Ooh, so this magical cream can increase my attraction? I’ll take it! 😉

To look my best around this time of year I, of course, focus on how I can switch up my skin care for my changing skin. This time of year, it’s growing colder and darker. I can’t stand being cold so the heat gets turned up and the fire is sparked. But with rising temperatures, the humidity is zapped from the air, causing my skin to dry out. Usually my skin is normal to oily, but in the winter it becomes a lot more dry. Below are products that I like to use to combat dry winter skin to make sure that my skin is #HolidayHaute and I look my best!

Wishlist 2015

Wishlist 2015

We all have a few things on our wishlists this year. We may get a few things, we may not, but the fun is in the wishing.

I remember when I was a kid, I would lay down on the floor with that ten pound JCPenney catalog and write out everything I was interested in. Twelve pages and two hours later, we found out that apparently I wanted everything from new pajamas (in every color) to a bunk bed for just myself. When Christmas came I didn’t get everything I wanted and that was okay. Honestly, I forgot about most everything I wrote down (I thought that was the point of writing it down!), but I still have fond memories of Christmases with my family and every year was always a fun occasion. Tony Moly Panda’s Dream White Magic Cream–Review

Tony Moly Panda’s Dream White Magic Cream–Review

Oh, pandas. Man, are they cute!

Probably Tony Moly’s most known product is the Panda’s Dream White Magic Cream. Even Urban Outfitters sells it and it’s been cropping up on beauty lists all over the internet. Besides his cute factor, this chubby panda claims to brighten, whiten, and fade hyper-pigmentation.

I received a couple samples of this, which was great because I had been interested in buying it, but was concerned about exactly how “bright” and “white” I would become. Read more

Fall is the perfect time for apples. Apple pie, apple cider, apple donuts… I’m making myself hungry!

We may be only a few short weeks away from December, but apples are still very much a part of the season. So Tony Moly’s Apple Detox Honey Cream was a perfect addition to my routine for a short time.

Sheet Mask Marathon Day 8–Skin Factory Real Honey Moisturizing Ampoule Mask

Yay! It’s day eight of my Sheet Mask Marathon! This is the last day of the featured sheet masks! I hope you enjoyed seeing different types and textures of masks and maybe even placed some orders of your own to try. Tomorrow wraps up the marathon and also features a fun surprise so I hope you’ll stay tuned! If you need to catch up, you can check out the intro here. After that, see the other days:

Day 1 (featuring Etude House Tea Tree),

Day 2 (featuring Nature Republic Snail),

Day 8 is all about Skin Factory’s Real Honey Moisturizing Ampoule Mask. Honey has been known as an anti-inflammatory and to help with infection, making it great for acne sufferers (like me). This is my first Skin Factory product but they claim to be “the #1 humanist brand” because they use the “best ingredients”. They also have a “five-free” line which is free of colorants, parabens, pigments, ethanol, and mineral oil.

Sheet Mask Marathon Day 7–Annie’s Way Seaweed

Sheet Mask Marathon Day 7–Annie’s Way Seaweed

Welcome to day seven of my Sheet Mask Marathon! We’re getting close to the end so please stay tuned. There is a special surprise waiting at the end. 😉 To get caught up, you can check out the beginning post here. After you do that, check out:

Day 1 (featuring Etude House Tea Tree),

Day 2 (featuring Nature Republic Snail),

Day 3 (featuring Mediheal WHP Charcoal and Mineral),

Day 4 (featuring Vandeo Marine Algae),

Day 5 (featuring My Beauty Diary Diamond & Caviar)

and Day 6 (featuring Freeset Donkey Milk Healing).

Day 7 is about one of my new found loves in the sheet mask world: Annie’s Way. I stumbled across these by complete chance. I was scouring Ebay looking for cheap sheet masks. These popped up in an auction (I prefer Buy It Now) and I figured if I could get them for a dollar or less (with free shipping), then great, but if not… whatever. I won most of them, though some went to about two dollars a piece. The seaweed is the one I was most excited for. If you’ve seen my first Lush haul with Big Blue, then you know I’m a maniac for anything seaweed. Plus, it’s anti-acne. Score!
